Towntopia is a browser city-builder: you start with an empty plot and grow it into a working town by hand, one placement at a time. There's no combat and no timer pushing you, the pace is set entirely by how fast you want to expand.
The loop is the classic build-and-balance one. Houses bring in residents, roads connect your plots so those residents can actually reach anything, farms and industry buildings turn raw land into resources, and commerce buildings convert that production into cash you spend on the next round of building.
Controls
Play entirely with the mouse (or a finger on touch devices): click or tap to select a building, then click or tap again to place it. There's no keyboard scheme, everything runs through pointing and placing.
Tips
- Lay roads before you scatter houses across the map, a disconnected house doesn't do you much good.
- Don't build production faster than you can sell it, extra farms and workshops are wasted without enough commerce to convert their output into cash.
- Grow outward in small, connected clusters rather than jumping to distant empty land, it keeps every new building reachable from what you already have.
It suits players who like the SimCity-style genre but want something they can play a few minutes at a time in a browser tab, no install and no long tutorial before you're placing your first house.
