About The Left Behind

The Left Behind is a point-and-click horror adventure set inside an abandoned museum, part of FM Studio's long-running Forgotten Hill series. You wake up trapped among dusty exhibits and locked cabinets, and the only way out is to search each room by hand: examine display cases, pry open drawers, and piece together the objects you find into working tools. There's no combat and no timer pushing you along, just a slow, uneasy crawl through rooms that clearly don't want to give up their secrets.

The pace is deliberate rather than jump-scare heavy. Most of the tension comes from not knowing what a given cabinet or contraption actually does until you've dragged the right item onto it, and from the museum's backstory unfolding a piece at a time as you dig deeper into its history. A built-in hint system is there if a puzzle stalls you out, so it rewards patience more than reflexes.

Controls

Mouse only. Click on objects to pick them up into your inventory, then click an inventory item and use it on another object, cabinet, or door to interact with it.

Tips

  • Click on everything in a room before moving on — the museum hides interactive objects in places that don't look obviously clickable.
  • Hold onto inventory items even if you don't see an immediate use; several puzzles need something you picked up several rooms earlier.
  • Use the hint system rather than guess-clicking at random once you're stuck; it saves a lot of backtracking.

It's a good fit if you enjoy slower, atmosphere-first puzzle games and don't mind a museum's worth of clutter standing between you and the exit.
