Swordtail casts you as a small cat with a big job: rebuild a ruined kingdom from nothing. You start by clearing rubble and gathering whatever raw materials are lying around, then work up to crafting tools, gear, and buildings that let you push further into monster-infested territory. It's the familiar survival-crafting loop — gather, build, upgrade, repeat — dressed up in a lighter, more storybook style than most games in the genre.
The threat comes in waves. As your kingdom grows, so does the strength of the monsters testing it, and eventually you'll face full boss fights that demand better gear than you started with. A local two-player co-op mode lets a second player join in on the same screen, splitting the gathering and fighting instead of doing it solo.
Controls
- WASD or arrow keys — move
- Click and drag with the mouse — alternative movement
- Move next to a resource or enemy — harvest or attack automatically
- Escape — pause
Tips
- Spend early time gathering before you fight — better gear makes the wave-based monster encounters much more forgiving
- Bring a second player in for co-op if you can; splitting gathering and combat speeds up kingdom-rebuilding noticeably
- Don't rush toward boss fights underprepared — the difficulty curve tracks how much you've upgraded, not how far you've explored
Runs on desktop, phone, and tablet, so it suits both a quick tap-through session and a longer sit-down crafting run.
