About Swingo

Swingo is a colorful, physics-based arcade game where you control a bouncy animal character on a quest to gather fresh fruit. Unlike traditional platformers, your character does not have legs to walk or run. Instead, you navigate entirely using a sticky grappling hook to pull yourself from point to point, building momentum to swing, bounce, and launch through the air.

Each level challenges you to collect the fruit scattered around the environment and reach the portal to advance. As you progress, the stages introduce moving obstacles, portals, bouncy pads, and trickier layouts that test your reflexes and understanding of physics. Success relies on finding the right rhythm and timing your releases to land exactly where you want to go.

Controls

  • Mouse (PC): Click and hold the left mouse button to aim your grappling hook. Drag to adjust the angle and strength, and release to shoot.
  • Touch (Mobile): Tap and drag on the screen to aim your hook, and release to launch.
  • Keyboard (PC Alternative): Use the arrow keys to adjust your aim, and press the Spacebar to shoot your grappling hook.

Tips and Strategies

  • Use momentum: Don't just pull yourself directly to the anchors. Release your grip mid-swing to fling yourself across the level, using gravity to gain speed.
  • Control your height: You can shoot your grappling hook while airborne. If you miss a platform, quickly fire another hook at a nearby ceiling to rescue yourself from falling.
  • Plan for moving obstacles: Watch the patterns of moving hazards or rotating obstacles. Timing your shots to fly through gaps when the path is clear is crucial in later levels.
  • Collect all fruit: Fruit isn't just for points—gathering them allows you to unlock a variety of new, cute animal characters in the main menu.
