Sudoblocks is a captivating single-player puzzle game that seamlessly merges the block-placement challenge of Tetris with the grid logic of Sudoku. Players are tasked with positioning uniquely shaped wooden blocks onto a classic 9x9 grid. The objective is to form complete horizontal rows, vertical columns, or designated 3x3 square subgrids. When any of these formations are fully filled, the blocks within them disappear, freeing up space and earning points.
Each session starts off slow and relaxing, but the pressure builds as the grid fills up and the shapes of the incoming blocks become more complex. With three different game modes to choose from—Standard, Timed, and Relaxed—you can customize the pacing of your game. Whether you are looking for a quick brain teaser or a slow, strategic session, Sudoblocks provides a clean, grid-based challenge that keeps you thinking multiple moves ahead.
Controls
Playing Sudoblocks is simple, requiring only dragging and dropping actions depending on your device:
- On Desktop: Use your mouse cursor to click, hold, and drag a block from the tray on the side, then release the click to place it on the 9x9 grid.
- On Mobile/Tablet: Use your finger to tap, drag, and release the block shapes directly onto the touch screen grid.
- Power-ups: Tap or click on the power-up buttons (such as rotate, swap, or undo) at the bottom of the screen to manipulate your pieces during tight situations.
Tips
- Prioritize Board Space: Always aim to keep the center of your board as clear as possible. Running out of room for large, awkward blocks is the most common way to end a run.
- Go for Combos: Try to clear multiple lines or 3x3 squares simultaneously. Triggering multiple matches in a single turn yields significant score multipliers.
- Avoid Waiting for Specific Blocks: Do not leave crucial slots empty in hopes of getting a perfect piece. Work with the shapes you currently have to consistently clear space.
- Save Power-ups: Save your undo, swap, and rotate abilities for when you have no valid moves left to extend your game session.
