About Sling Drift

Sling Drift is a one-tap racing game where the only real skill is timing a hook. Instead of steering through corners, your car locks onto a pivot point on the inside of each turn and swings around it — get the release right and you carry speed into the next straight, get it wrong and you fly off the track.

Runs are short and endless: the road keeps generating corner after corner, and your only job is deciding when to hook in and when to let go. Coins picked up along the way go toward unlocking new cars, but the core loop never changes — it's a pure test of rhythm, best played in quick bursts.

Controls

Hold the mouse button (or tap and hold on touchscreens) as you approach a corner to sling around the nearest pivot point, then release at the right moment to launch out of the turn. On desktop, holding Space works the same way.

Tips

  • Grab the hook a beat before the corner, not right on top of it — hooking late throws your angle off.
  • Release while you're still pointed roughly down the road, not mid-swing.
  • Chase distance over risky shortcuts — one bad drift ends the run instantly.

It's a good fit for a quick, one-more-try session rather than a long sit-down play.

Sling Drift FAQ

How do you play Sling Drift?
Hold down the mouse button, touchscreen, or Space bar as you approach a corner to hook onto its pivot point, then release at the right moment to drift through and launch toward the next turn.
What happens if you miss a corner?
Flying off the track ends your run immediately, so timing the release matters more than speed.
Can I play Sling Drift on mobile?
Yes, it works with tap-and-hold controls on touchscreens as well as mouse or Space bar on desktop.
What are the coins for?
Coins collected during runs unlock new cars, though the core hook-and-drift gameplay stays the same for every car.
