Shift to Drift Game

Shift to Drift is a top-down rally racer built entirely around cornering, not straight-line speed. Each track is a run of tight, winding turns, and the two or three AI opponents on the grid with you are genuinely fast if you drive it straight and slow through the bends. Winning means reading the next curve early and sliding through it at a speed a cautious driver never would.

You control everything with a single held finger or mouse button: press and hold, and the direction you're holding relative to your car steers it, while releasing lets the car straighten out and grip again. Committing to a hold through a corner throws the car into a drift, trailing smoke, and the game rewards carrying that drift right up to the apex instead of tapping the brakes.

Controls

• Desktop: click and hold the mouse button, aiming the hold in the direction you want to steer
• Mobile: tap and hold on the screen the same way

Tips

• Start your hold before you reach a corner rather than at the apex — drifting is about entering the turn already sliding, not correcting mid-turn
• Letting go too early snaps the car straight and kills your speed; a longer, committed hold through the whole curve keeps momentum
• Finishing first, not just finishing, is what earns stars and unlocks the next track, so it's worth restarting a race you're clearly losing rather than limping to the line
