Monkey Tag IO drops a room of players into a blocky 3D arena and turns it into a chase. One or a few monkeys start off infected; everyone else is a runner trying to last until the clock runs out. Get tagged and you switch sides, so the crowd of chasers grows round by round while the pool of survivors shrinks.
The arena is built for movement rather than fighting: platforms to jump between, ledges to scramble up, and vines to climb so you can break line of sight or cut across the level instead of running the long way around. A round is short and chaotic, and it resets fast enough that losing a life doesn't mean losing much time.
Controls
- WASD or arrow keys — move
- Space — jump
- On phone and tablet, an on-screen joystick and touch buttons replace the keyboard controls.
Tips
- Climbing a vine or scrambling onto a high platform is often faster than running from an infected chaser on the ground — height buys you time to think.
- Keep moving rather than holding one spot; a monkey that stays still is easy to corner.
- If you're infected, chase in the open where runners have fewer platforms to hop between, rather than following them into a tangle of vines.
- Coins earned from playing unlock cosmetic skins in the shop, which restocks daily if you want to check back for new items.
It plays fastest in short bursts with a group — open a private room and share the invite code to play with friends, or drop into a public room to join whoever's online.
