Merge and Double is a numbers puzzle built around a single simple move: line up two tiles that share the same number and they combine into one tile worth double. It plays out on a small board that fills up fast, so every merge is really a decision about where the next open space needs to be.
There's no timer pushing you, but there is pressure all the same — new tiles keep dropping in, and a board with nowhere left to place one ends the run. The pull is watching small numbers you've been shuffling around finally line up into one big tile, then doing it again with a slightly fuller board.
Controls
Everything is done with the mouse or a finger: click or tap a tile, then click or tap the matching tile next to it to merge them. There's no keyboard involved.
Tips
- Keep your highest-value tiles in a corner rather than scattered in the middle, so a merge there doesn't strand you.
- Clear small matches early instead of saving them — a board that's half-empty gives you more room to plan the next big merge.
- Watch for the power-ups that appear as the board fills; they're meant to bail you out of a near-loss, not to be hoarded.
It's a good pick for a short break: quick to understand, easy to play one-handed, and satisfying in the way any good merge game is — watching two small things become one big one.
