Like a King is a strategy game where you lead an army of card-based units across a medieval battlefield, trying to knock out an enemy king before yours falls. Each match plays out on a small grid: you spend resources to summon units from your hand, then aim them at the enemy side to fight automatically once they're placed.
A run is really a deck-building loop. Battles earn you cards and currency, which you spend building out a collection of unit types with different roles — some tank hits at the front, some hang back and deal ranged damage, and stronger cards cost more to field. Winning consistently is less about fast reflexes and more about which units you bring into a fight and when you commit them.
Controls
Everything is mouse or touch. Tap an open tile on your side of the board to spawn a unit there, then drag or draw a line from that unit to the enemy unit or tile you want it to attack.
Tips
- Don't dump your whole hand into one push — hold back a card or two in case the enemy counterattacks.
- Pay attention to unit cost versus what they do; a cheap unit that trades evenly is often better than an expensive one you can't afford twice.
- Use quests and match rewards to grow your card collection rather than sticking with your starting deck.
It suits players who like short strategic sessions with a card-collecting hook, more Clash Royale in spirit than a traditional tower-defense game.
