About J-J-Jump

J-J-Jump is a fast, vertical platformer from Nitrome, the studio behind Bad Ice-Cream and Dangle. The premise is simple and merciless: climb as high as you can, one platform at a time, before the water rising below swallows you whole.

Each level is a tight vertical shaft. You get a limited number of jumps to work with, so every leap has to count — hesitate and the water gains ground, jump too soon and you've spent a move you'll want later. Ten levels ramp up the pressure, testing how well you can read the platforms ahead while the water keeps climbing underneath you.

Controls

  • Left / Right arrow — move
  • Up arrow — jump

Tips

  • Treat your jumps as a limited resource — look at the next platform before you leap instead of jumping on reflex, since a wasted jump can't be taken back.
  • Keep moving upward steadily rather than pausing to line things up perfectly; the water only rises, it never gives ground back.

It's built for a short, focused session rather than a long sit — good for a quick arcade break between things.

J-J-Jump FAQ

How do you play J-J-Jump?
Use the left and right arrow keys to move and the up arrow key to jump. Keep climbing to stay ahead of the water rising from below.
How many jumps do you get?
Each attempt gives you a limited number of jumps, so plan each leap instead of jumping on reflex — you can't get a wasted jump back.
Can I play J-J-Jump on mobile?
No, it's built for keyboard controls, so it plays on a computer rather than a phone or tablet.
How many levels does J-J-Jump have?
There are ten levels, each a tighter test of timing than the last as you climb away from the rising water.
