Fluffball puts you in control of a small, fuzzy sphere rolling across floating platform courses in the sky. Momentum carries you the whole way through a stage, so the game is really about reading the layout a beat ahead and slowing down before a turn rather than trying to correct mid-slide.
It plays like a stripped-down cousin of Marble Madness or Super Monkey Ball: no combat, no puzzles, just tight courses, narrow ledges, and drop-offs waiting for a turn taken too fast. Gems are scattered along some routes for players willing to detour, but the actual goal on every stage is simply reaching the exit without rolling off the edge.
The build itself has an odd history: Nitrome finished Fluffball back in 2007 for a deal with Miniclip, but both sides were unhappy with how it turned out and shelved it. Nitrome eventually released that shelved build in 2015, keyboard controls and all, once there was clear player interest in seeing it.
Controls
Move with WASD or the arrow keys. There's no mouse option in this version — steering is entirely momentum-based, so ease off the direction key early rather than trying to steer out of a slide.
Tips
- Let go of the movement key before a sharp corner — Fluffball keeps sliding for a moment after you stop pressing.
- Don't chase a gem if it means overshooting the safe line; missing the exit costs more than skipping one pickup.
- Watch the edge of the platform a little ahead of where you're currently rolling, not directly underneath you.
It suits short, replayable sessions more than long ones — a good pick if you enjoy precision platformers you can restart instantly after a fall.
