About EvoWorld io (FlyOrDie io)

EvoWorld io started life as FlyOrDie io, and the core idea hasn't changed: you hatch as one of the smallest creatures on the map and try to survive long enough to climb the food chain. Every player is doing the same thing at the same time, so the fly buzzing past you might be a snack or a threat depending on how far along it already is.

A round is a constant risk calculation. Creatures outlined in green are safe to eat and push you toward evolving into something bigger; creatures outlined in red will kill you if you get close. On top of that, you're managing water and oxygen meters that drain over time, so even a cautious run can end from neglect rather than a predator. Clouds and bushes give you somewhere to hide while you decide your next move. Clear enough stages and you evolve, moving up through insects, birds, mammals, aquatic animals and eventually some stranger, larger forms, each with its own diet and its own special ability.

Controls

Move with the arrow keys or by left-clicking in the direction you want to go. Press Space or S to use your current creature's special ability, which changes as you evolve — options seen at different stages include things like a bird dropping an egg or a bat using sonar to spot nearby food.

Tips

  • Don't fixate on food and forget your water and oxygen bars — either one hitting zero ends your run just as fast as a predator does.
  • Use clouds and bushes to break line of sight when a bigger creature is nearby instead of trying to outrun it in the open.
  • Early evolution stages die fast to more experienced players, so play cautiously until you've put a few levels between you and the bottom of the food chain.

It suits players who like the tension of games like Agar io or Slither io but want a longer-term goal than just growing a blob — here every stage looks and plays differently, so reaching a new one is its own reward.

EvoWorld io (FlyOrDie io) FAQ

What was EvoWorld io called before?
It was originally released as FlyOrDie io. Both names refer to the same game, and you'll still see it listed under either title.
What do the green and red outlines mean?
A green outline means that creature is safe to eat and will help you evolve. A red outline means it can kill you, so keep your distance.
Do I need to worry about anything besides being eaten?
Yes — your creature has water and oxygen meters that drain over time. Letting either one run out ends your run even if no predator touches you.
Does the game work on mobile?
This browser version is built for mouse and keyboard. EvoWorld io also has a separate mobile app with touch controls if you'd rather play on a phone.
