Down The Hill drops you at the top of an endlessly generating mountain and gives you one job: keep hopping down it without dying. The screen scrolls after you, so there's no lingering to plan a perfect route — you're reading the next row of terrain and deciding, in the space of a step, whether to go left or right.
Each descent is randomly laid out, so the same TNT-and-lava pattern never repeats twice. Trees force you to detour, TNT blocks explode if you linger too long near them, and lava fields are instant runs-enders — the challenge is entirely about reading a few rows ahead and committing.
Controls
On desktop, use the Left and Right arrow keys to hop diagonally down the slope. On phone or tablet, tap the left or right side of the screen to do the same thing — there's no separate jump button, direction is the whole input.
Tips
- Don't outrun the scroll. The screen keeps creeping down regardless of what you do, so there's no benefit to rushing — take the extra half-second to look at the row you're about to land on.
- Give TNT room. It doesn't go off the instant you touch it, but standing next to it too long will — hop past rather than lingering near an explosive block.
- Coins aren't worth a detour into a bad landing. They go toward unlocking cosmetic characters in the shop, not extra lives, so skip one if grabbing it means a risky step.
Runs are short, which makes it an easy game to pick up for a couple of attempts on a break, or to keep chasing a new high score for longer.
