Dead Zed drops you behind a single barricade with a rifle and a shrinking group of survivors, and asks you to hold for 40 days. Each wave sends walkers shuffling in from every side of the screen, and your only real weapon against panic is aim: headshots drop them faster, stray shots waste ammo you'll need for the next rush. Between waves you decide who goes out to scavenge for supplies, weapons and new recruits — send someone and your defense gets thinner while they're gone, keep everyone home and you'll run dry on ammo and repairs.
The tension comes from that trade-off repeating every day: push your luck sending survivors out for better gear, or turtle up and grind through what you already have. Losses are permanent, so a bad wave can cost you a scavenger you were counting on for day 30.
Controls
- Mouse — aim and shoot
- R — reload
- 1 / 2 — switch weapons
- F — change fire mode
- M — mute
Tips
- Aim for the head — it drops walkers in fewer shots and saves ammo for later waves.
- Only send survivors out when your barricade is in good shape; a scavenging trip during a rough wave can lose you both the run and the survivor.
- Reload during the lull between waves, not mid-fight, so you're never caught with an empty gun.
- Prioritize repairing the barricade over new weapons early on — a breach ends the day regardless of what you're holding.
It plays in the browser with nothing to install, and suits anyone who likes a slow-burn survival grind over twitch action.
