Cut the Rope 2 is a physics puzzle game built around one small green monster: Om Nom. Every level drops him into a box strung with ropes, bubbles, spider webs and spinning gears, and your only job is to get a piece of candy into his mouth by cutting the right ropes at the right moment. It's a sequel that widens the original's toybox — instead of just scissors-on-string, you're now nudging candy through fans, bouncing it off suction cups, and steering it past enemies called Nommies who want to steal it first.
A single level rarely takes more than a minute, which makes the game easy to pick up for a few tries or play through in a longer stretch. The challenge comes from reading the whole contraption before you commit to a cut — rope tension, gravity and momentum all matter, and a candy that swings too far or too fast will miss Om Nom's mouth even if every rope looked right.
Controls
Mouse or touch only. Click or tap a rope to cut it, and click-and-drag certain elements (like bubbles or the candy itself) to reposition them before letting go.
Tips
- Watch the candy's swing arc before cutting — timing the cut a beat early or late is the most common way to miss.
- Popping an air bubble around the candy makes it float upward, which is often how you get past gears or spikes below.
- Collect the stars in each level if you enjoy replaying stages, but they're optional — getting the candy to Om Nom is all that's required to move on.
- If a level has a Nommie on screen, plan your cuts to keep the candy away from it rather than reacting after it's already close.
It suits short breaks as easily as a longer session, and it's a good fit for anyone who likes puzzles that reward a moment of thought before you act.
