World's Hardest Game 2 is the sequel to Stephen Critoph's brutal maze game from Snubby Land, and it keeps the original's entire philosophy: one square, one goal, zero forgiveness. You guide a small red square through a maze of patrolling blue circles, collecting every yellow coin on the way before reaching the green safe zone. Touch a circle and you're back at the very start of the level, no partial credit.
The difficulty comes entirely from timing rather than reflexes in the twitch-shooter sense — most levels are solvable at a walking pace once you've watched the enemy patterns for a few seconds and found the gap. The game runs on Ruffle, an in-browser Flash emulator, since the original was built in Flash before the format was retired.
Controls
- Arrow keys or WASD: Move the red square
Tips
- Watch a level's enemy pattern for a couple of full loops before moving — most deaths come from moving on a guess instead of a read.
- Grab coins on the path you'd take anyway rather than detouring for them; a detour usually walks you back into a circle's patrol line.
- When you fail, you restart instantly at the top of the level, so treat every attempt as free information about the pattern rather than a setback.
It's a short, sharp game best played in bursts — a handful of attempts at a stuck level, a short break, then back in with a clearer read on the pattern.
