Watermelon Game is a drop-and-merge puzzle built by Momo Games, a one-person studio run by developer Anul Agarwal, made in Unity after the fruit-merging games that went viral in late 2023. You drop fruit into a tall container one at a time; when two fruits of the same size touch, they merge into the next fruit up the chain, working from small berries all the way up to the watermelon.
The tension comes from the container filling up: fruit that never gets matched stacks higher, and if it spills past the line at the top, the run is over. Each drop is a small trade-off between chasing an easy merge and keeping the board from overflowing.
Controls
- A / D or Left / Right arrow keys — move the fruit above the container
- Space — drop it
- Mouse — click and hold, drag to position the fruit, release to drop
Tips
- Line up merges near the bottom corners first — a stable base of larger fruit gives you more room to work with as the container fills.
- Don't rush a drop just to clear a small fruit; a bad placement that blocks two bigger fruits from touching costs you more space than it saves.
- Watch the preview of the next fruit so you're planning your current drop and the one after it, not just the one in hand.
It's a good pick for a few minutes of low-pressure puzzling — no timer, no story, just how far you can push the merges before the container gets away from you.
