About Vex 8

Vex 8 is the newest entry in Amazing Adam's long-running stickman parkour series, and it keeps the formula that made the earlier games a fixture on browser portals: a small stick figure running, jumping and sliding through a gauntlet of spikes, saws, drops and moving hazards where one mistimed jump ends the run instantly. There's no story to follow and no combat — just a course, a checkpoint, and your reflexes.

Runs are short but unforgiving. You'll die constantly at first, respawn at the last checkpoint you touched, and slowly memorize the exact rhythm of jumps and slides a section demands. That trial-and-error loop is the whole appeal: each Act is a series of hazard patterns that only look impossible until you've run them enough times to move through on instinct.

Controls

  • Arrow keys or A/D: run left and right
  • Up arrow or W: jump, with a double jump available in the air
  • Down arrow or S: slide under low obstacles or crouch
  • R: restart the current section from your last checkpoint

Modes

Adventure mode is the main campaign, split into nine Acts that each introduce their own hazard set and get noticeably harder as you go. A separate Hardcore mode strips out mid-level checkpoints entirely, so a single slip sends you back to the very start of the Act — it's built for players who have already cleared Adventure and want the real test.

Tips

  • Wall jumping is core, not optional — chaining jumps off walls is how you clear several of the wider gaps and reach stars that are out of reach on a straight run.
  • Slide instead of crouching under low ceilings; sliding keeps your momentum going into the next jump, crouching kills it.
  • Traps in Vex run on fixed timers, not randomness. If a saw or laser catches you, watch its cycle once before trying again rather than repeating the same timing.
  • Stars scattered through each Act are optional, so if a section is beating you, skip the star and come back once you've actually cleared the level.

It's a game built around short, replayable failure — best suited to players who enjoy precision platforming and don't mind dying dozens of times before a level finally clicks.

Vex 8 FAQ

Who made Vex 8?
Vex 8 is developed by Amazing Adam, the studio behind the rest of the Vex stickman parkour series.
How many levels does Vex 8 have?
Adventure mode is split into nine Acts, each with its own set of hazards and an increasing difficulty curve as you progress.
What's the difference between Adventure and Hardcore mode?
Adventure mode saves your progress at checkpoints within each Act. Hardcore mode removes those mid-level checkpoints, so any mistake sends you back to the start of the Act.
Can I play Vex 8 with a controller or on mobile?
Vex 8 is built for keyboard controls (arrow keys or WASD plus a jump and slide key). It can load on mobile touch screens, but the precise timing the levels demand is easier to pull off with a keyboard.
