About Squad Goals

Squad Goals plays soccer with the rulebook thrown out — no cards, no fouls, no offsides, just two teams sliding, shoving and shooting until someone scores. Matches are short and chaotic: dribble past defenders, time a tackle to steal the ball, and unload a shot the moment you get an opening.

Between matches you spend the coins you've earned on upgrades — power, speed, accuracy, agility, stamina and recovery — plus cosmetics for your player, ball, stadium and goal. It's built as a loop of quick matches followed by quick upgrades, so progress carries over even after a rough game.

Controls

Drag the mouse, or use WASD or the arrow keys, to move your player. Release the mouse or keys to tackle when defending, or to shoot when you've got the ball.

Tips

  • Put early coins into speed or agility — outrunning a defender wins more possessions than a stronger shot does.
  • Release your tackle a beat before you reach the attacker rather than on top of them, or you'll slide past.
  • Shooting from a slight angle beats shooting straight on — goalkeepers cover the center first.

Good for short bursts between things, since a match rarely takes more than a couple of minutes.
