About Short Life 2

Short Life 2 is a ragdoll physics platformer from GameTornado, the sequel to their original Short Life. You guide a floppy, breakable character through side-scrolling levels rigged with spikes, swinging blades, and explosives, and the entire point is finishing each one with your limbs still attached.

The physics do most of the work here. Your character doesn't stop or turn cleanly — momentum carries through every jump and landing, so a single mistimed step near a trap usually ends in a gruesome, floppy collapse. Levels are short, so dying costs you seconds rather than progress, which keeps the retry-and-adjust loop feeling fair even when the same trap catches you twice.

Controls

Left and right arrow keys (or A/D) move you; the up arrow (or W) jumps; the down arrow (or S) crouches and lets you crawl. That's the full set — there's no run button or attack.

Tips

  • Crouch under swinging blades and low hazards instead of trying to time a jump over them — crawling shrinks your hitbox and is usually the safer option.
  • Several traps are motion-triggered. Step just close enough to set one off, then back away and let it reset before walking through.
  • Stars are optional on a first pass. Clear the level to unlock the next one, then go back for stars once you know the layout.

Short Life 2 runs across 20 levels, each rougher than the last, and suits anyone who wants short, repeatable rounds where failure is part of the entertainment.
