Refuge Solitaire is a two-deck take on classic solitaire from Ravalmatic. Instead of the usual four foundation piles, you're building up eight in the middle of the table: four climb from Ace up to King, and the four count back down from King to 2. Everything else deals from a wider tableau spread across the board, so there's more to scan before you commit to a move.
The twist is in how you free up buried cards: you can stack a card onto another in the tableau only when it's the same suit and exactly one rank away, up or down. That single-suit sequencing changes how you plan a run compared to the alternating-color rule most solitaire games use — you're often digging for a specific suit rather than any card that fits.
Controls
Click and drag with the mouse, or tap and drag on a touchscreen, to move cards. No keyboard needed.
Tips
- Scan for same-suit runs before you clear a foundation card — mismatched suits can't stack even if the rank works.
- Building both an ascending and a descending set of foundations at once means every card you draw is useful somewhere; don't fixate on just one direction.
- If you get stuck, the game's own hint system is there to use rather than forcing a reshuffle.
Good pick for solitaire regulars who want a familiar drag-and-drop loop with an actual rule change to think through, not just a reskin.
