Red Ball 4 is a physics-driven platformer built around one gimmick that carries the whole game: you're rolling, not walking. Momentum matters — a running start clears gaps a standing jump can't, and stopping short on a slope means sliding right back down. The story is simple enough to ignore: black squares have drained the color from the world, and it's your job to roll through their factories and boss fights to get it back.
The levels build from straightforward rolling-and-jumping into real platforming challenges — spinning saw blades, crushing pistons, moving platforms timed against gaps, and a handful of boss encounters that break up the pace between episodes. It rewards a light touch on the controls more than reflexes alone, since overshooting a jump is as easy as undershooting one.
Controls
- Arrow keys or A / D to roll left and right
- Up arrow, W, or Spacebar to jump
Tips
- Build up speed before a jump — a rolling start clears wider gaps than jumping from a standstill.
- Let go of the movement key a beat before you actually need to stop; the ball keeps rolling on momentum after you release it.
- On slopes, small adjustments beat holding a direction key down — overcorrecting is what sends you tumbling off the edge.
It runs straight in the browser with nothing to install, and suits short sessions as easily as a longer run through several levels in one sitting.
