About Obby Tag

Obby Tag mixes two genres that don't usually meet: obstacle-course platforming and a game of tag. One player wears the crown, and everyone else is chasing them across a course of climbing walls, jumps and hazard blocks trying to knock it off their head. Whoever holds the crown racks up points just by staying alive, so the crown-holder is sprinting for their life while the pack behind them takes shortcuts and risks to close the gap.

The obstacle courses aren't just scenery — lightning blocks speed up your run and climb, while orange blocks and caution blocks are hazards that cost you time or knock you off course if you clip them. There are four arenas to learn, each with its own layout of climbs and traps, and power-ups you can grab mid-run to swing a chase in your favor.

Controls

  • W A S D or Arrow keys — move
  • Spacebar — jump
  • Hold Spacebar — climb walls
  • F — activate a power-up

It also runs on phone and tablet with on-screen touch controls, so it's not a keyboard-only game.

Tips

  • If you're chasing the crown, aim for a lightning block just before the final stretch — the speed boost is often enough to close a gap you couldn't otherwise.
  • Holding the crown means playing defense, not offense — take the safest route through a course rather than the fastest one, since a mistake costs you the lead.
  • Save power-ups for the moment someone is right on your heels rather than using them the instant you grab one.

Good pick if you want short, chaotic rounds with players rather than a solo obstacle course — the tag element keeps every run different.
