Mirror Image is a puzzle game by Nitrome, and it does not move you with arrow keys at all. You control a warlock by dragging a line out from him with the mouse — release, and he teleports to the point exactly opposite where he was standing, as if the line were a mirror hinge. Working out where that "opposite point" will land, level after level, is the entire game.
The twist is that the world fights back against your aim. Mirror blocks bend your teleport line when it crosses them, so a straight drag can send you somewhere you didn't expect. Demons complicate the read further: some drift inside a patrol zone and reposition after every jump you make, some lunge toward you the instant you teleport, and stationary ones freeze you solid if they catch you in the open, so staying behind cover matters as much as the jump itself. Colored spikes only go quiet once you've stood on the matching pressure plate, and patches of magic mist simply switch your teleport off while you're inside them.
Controls
- Left-click and drag to draw your teleport line
- Release the mouse button to teleport to the opposite end
Tips
- Trace your line past a mirror block before you commit — the reflection changes your landing point, and it's easier to plan than to react.
- Against poor-sighted demons, teleport when their patrol has carried them away from your path rather than trying to outrun them.
- Keep something solid between you and a stationary demon; being seen freezes you in place.
- Grab colored keys as you pass them — later levels gate progress behind matching doors, and backtracking for one is often worse than a wasted teleport.
It suits players who like puzzles that reward precise spatial thinking over quick reflexes — 36 levels that keep adding one new wrinkle (moving platforms, mirror clones, locked gates) to the same core teleport-and-reflect idea. Runs right in the browser, no installs.
