Minesweeper Game

Minesweeper is the definitive logic puzzle that defined early PC gaming. Beneath a plain grey grid lies a hidden minefield, and your only tools for navigating it are deduction and the numbers revealed as you uncover safe squares. Every number indicates exactly how many mines are touching that specific tile, forcing you to logically determine which adjacent squares are safe to click and which conceal an explosive.

A single misclick ends the round immediately, making this a game of extreme precision. While luck plays a small factor on certain tricky board layouts, a vast majority of the grid can be solved through pure pattern recognition. The challenge is as much about speed as it is about safety, pushing you to clear the board as fast as your brain can process the numeric clues.

Controls

The entire game is played with the mouse, requiring careful clicks:

• Left-Click: Reveal a square. Use this when you are certain a square is safe.
• Right-Click: Place a flag. Use this to mark a square that you know contains a mine.
• Middle-Click (or Left+Right Click): "Chord" a square. If a numbered square already has the correct number of flags touching it, chording will instantly reveal all remaining unflagged adjacent squares.

Tips

• Learn the 1-2-1 pattern: When you see a 1-2-1 sequence along a flat wall of unrevealed squares, the mines will always be next to the 1s.
• Use chording to save time: Manually clicking every safe square is slow. Flag the obvious mines, then chord the adjacent numbers to clear chunks of the board rapidly.
• Save guesses for last: If you reach a section that requires a 50/50 guess, leave it alone. Sometimes revealing squares on the side of the board will organically open up the information you need.
