Controls

The game uses entirely mouse or touch inputs:

• Select: Click or tap any of your pieces to see its available legal moves highlighted on the board.
• Move: Click an empty highlighted square to move, or click an enemy piece to capture it.

Tips

• Watch the highlights: If you are still learning how knights or bishops move, use the game's highlight feature. Clicking a piece shows exactly where it can land, which helps prevent illegal moves.
• Protect your king early: Try to castle within your first few moves. This tucks your king safely behind a wall of pawns and brings your rook out toward the center of the board.
• Fight for the center: The four squares in the middle of the board are the most valuable real estate. Occupying or attacking them gives your pieces more mobility and restricts your opponent's options.
