About J-J-Jump - Play Online for Free! | Poki

J-J-Jump is a vertical platformer by Nitrome: you guide a tiny hero up a tower of platforms, springs, and switch-activated blocks while a flood rises steadily from below. Miss too many jumps or stall too long and the water catches up and ends the run.

The twist is the jump counter. You only get five jumps before you have to touch solid ground again, so every leap has to count — hop onto a floating orb or pass a checkpoint to top the counter back up. Springboards are the one exception: bouncing off them is free and doesn't cost a jump, which is what makes some of the trickier vertical gaps possible. Ten levels escalate from simple hopping to tight sequences past cannons, black flames, crushing blocks, and enemies you stomp to clear.

Controls

  • Left / Right arrow — move
  • Up arrow — jump

Tips

  • Don't jump just to jump — save your five for the gaps that actually need them, and walk the rest.
  • Springboard bounces don't cost a jump, so route through them whenever a level offers one.
  • Checkpoints refill your jump count, so touching one even briefly is worth a slight detour.
  • Stomp spiders and flies from above instead of trying to dodge around them in tight corridors.

It suits a short, focused session rather than idle play — the constant flood pressure means you're either moving with a plan or losing ground.

What are the controls for J-J-Jump?
Use the left and right arrow keys to move and the up arrow key to jump. There's no mouse or touch control scheme, so it's best played on a keyboard.
Why do I only get five jumps?
J-J-Jump limits you to five jumps before you need to land on solid ground, a checkpoint, or a floating orb to refill them. Bouncing off a springboard is free and doesn't use up a jump.

There are 10 levels, and each one introduces new hazards like cannons, black flames, and crushing blocks on top of the rising flood you're racing against.
Who made J-J-Jump?
