Hide and Paint drops you in as a blank white chameleon whose only defense is color. Instead of ducking behind crates or hiding in shadows like a normal game of hide-and-seek, you match the exact shade of whatever's around you: a red couch, a green hedge, a patch of gray pavement. Get the tone wrong and a seeker walking past will spot you instantly.
A round moves fast. You've got a short window to find a good surface, blend in, and hold still while the seekers sweep the map. Staying camouflaged isn't passive, though — the best hiding spots change as players get painted over or caught, so reading the room and repainting on the fly matters as much as picking a good corner at the start.
Controls
- WASD or Arrow Keys — move
- Mouse — look around
- F — paint yourself to match a nearby surface
Mobile
On touchscreens, movement, camera and painting all have their own on-screen controls.
Tips
- Match the surface you're already near instead of hunting for a "perfect" color across the map — every second spent moving in the open is a second you're visible.
- Watch which spots get hiders caught early and avoid them; seekers tend to check the obvious blend-in spots first.
- Don't freeze in one splash of color for the whole round — reposition and repaint as the environment around you changes.
It plays in short, replayable rounds, which makes it an easy pick for a quick multiplayer session rather than a long sit-down game.
