About Go Kart Go! Ultra!

Go Kart Go! Ultra! puts you behind the wheel of a barnyard racer, guiding a roster of wacky animal drivers — a rhino, a pig in racing gear, a flamingo, a crocodile, and more — through farm tracks, mine shafts and city parks. It's an arcade kart racer built around drifting and item chaos rather than realism, and a single race rarely takes more than a couple of minutes.

The loop is drift-then-strike: hold a slide through a corner to build speed, then unleash whatever item you're carrying to knock a rival off their line. Stars scattered across each track slowly unlock new characters, giving you a reason to replay a course you've already won. The standout feature for a browser game is the built-in split-screen mode — an actual second racer next to you, not just another AI opponent.

Controls

Player 1 steers with the Arrow Keys, fires items with Spacebar, and holds Shift to jump and drift. Z lets you glance backward to see who's catching up.

Player 2, for split-screen races, steers with WASD, uses items with Q, drifts with Tab, and looks back with E.

Esc or P pauses the race, and M mutes the sound.

Tips

  • Hold the drift, don't tap it. Shift only pays off if you keep it held through the turn — let go too early and you lose the speed boost that makes the mechanic worth using.
  • Save items for the right moment. Firing the instant you pick something up wastes it. Holding an item until a rival is in range, or until you need a shield while in first place, gets far more value.
  • Replay old tracks for the stars, not just the win. Character unlocks are tied to star collection, so going back to an early course is often the fastest way to open up a new racer.

If you've got a second player next to you, this is one of the few browser racers actually built for two people on one keyboard — worth clearing a few minutes for.

Go Kart Go! Ultra! FAQ

Can two people play Go Kart Go! Ultra! at once?
Yes, the game has a built-in split-screen mode for two players on the same keyboard. Player 1 uses the Arrow Keys, Spacebar, Shift and Z; Player 2 uses WASD, Q, Tab and E.
How do you unlock new characters?
By collecting stars scattered across each track. Every track has its own set, so replaying courses you've already won is the main way to open up new racers.
Does Go Kart Go! Ultra! work on mobile?
No, it's built around keyboard controls and runs best on desktop. There's no touch scheme for steering or items.
What does holding Shift actually do?
It triggers a jump-and-drift, letting you slide through corners. Holding it through the full turn builds a speed boost that releases when you let go.
