Free Skate Game

Free Skate, made by Sleepless Games, drops you into an open city built for skateboarding rather than a fixed obstacle course. Instead of a linear level, you roll freely between plazas, rails, ramps and stair sets, picking your own line and building speed however you like.

Progress comes through missions and stars scattered around the map rather than a single finish line, so a session can be as short as chaining a few grinds down one street or as long as hunting every collectible in a district. Gear upgrades you earn along the way make your skater faster and steadier, which opens up bigger gaps and longer combo lines the more you play.

Controls

• W or Up Arrow — speed up
• S or Down Arrow — brake / reverse
• A/D or Left/Right Arrow — turn and lean into corners
• Space — jump; hold for a higher ollie, and aim at a rail or ledge to grind it

Tips

• Jumping straight into a grind or a manual keeps your combo going — bailing early ends it, so commit to the landing rather than pulling out mid-air.
• Braking into a corner instead of just turning helps you keep control at higher speeds, especially around tight plaza layouts.

It also runs on touch controls, so it works about as well on a phone or tablet as it does with a keyboard.
