Fleeing the Complex is an interactive escape story from the Henry Stickmin series, told entirely through animated cutscenes and mouse clicks instead of direct character control. Henry has been captured and locked away in a maximum-security prison called The Wall, and every scene hands you a short list of options for what he tries next — fight past a guard, or try to sneak by unnoticed. There's no room to walk around or inventory to manage; the whole game is a sequence of choices that plays out as a cartoon.
What makes it worth sticking with is how differently a run can go. Pick badly and Henry ends up in a genuinely funny disaster; chain the right choices together and you reach one of several proper escapes. A branching path map fills in as you play, showing which routes you've already seen and which ones you haven't, so hunting down every ending becomes its own kind of puzzle.
Controls
Mouse only. Click the option you want at each decision point — there's no keyboard input to learn.
Tips
- A "bad" ending isn't a fail state here — many of them are the joke, so treat a wrong guess as part of the fun rather than something to avoid.
- Use the branching path map between choices to keep track of routes you haven't tried; the number of outcomes is easy to lose track of otherwise.
- If a choice goes badly, jump back to that decision point instead of restarting the whole game from the beginning.
Since each playthrough only takes a couple of minutes, it suits short sessions you can dip back into rather than one long sitting — made by PuffballsUnited, the same creator behind the rest of the Henry Stickmin series.
