About Fireboy And Watergirl 3

Fireboy and Watergirl 3: Ice Temple is the third entry in Oslo Albet's cooperative puzzle-platformer series, and the one that swaps the forest's mud for a frozen ruin. You guide two characters at once — a fire elemental and a water elemental — through 32 levels built around a single rule: each of them dies to the 's element, so you're always solving with two different sets of hazards on screen at the same time.

The Ice Temple's twist is momentum. Step onto a frozen floor and your character keeps sliding until they hit a wall or a non-icy surface, which turns ordinary jumps into planned slides across gaps you'd normally just walk over. Levers, pressure plates, and pushable crates gate the doors, and most of them need one character holding a switch while the moves through — so even in single-player, where you control both at once, you're constantly alternating who acts and who waits.

Controls

  • Fireboy — Arrow keys to move, Up to jump
  • Watergirl — A/D to move, W to jump
  • Both control schemes work at once, so two people can play on one keyboard, or one person can run both characters together

Tips

  • On ice, tap movement keys in short bursts instead of holding them — a full run-up on a slippery floor is much harder to stop exactly where you need to.
  • Fireboy can walk straight through fire and lava; Watergirl can walk straight through water. Green slime kills both, so treat it as a wall regardless of which character you're moving.
  • When a lever or button needs to stay held, park that character on it first and then send the one to the door — trying to time a sprint through a closing gate rarely beats just holding the switch.
  • Each level's diamonds (red for Fireboy, blue for Watergirl) are optional but often mark the safest route through a puzzle, since they tend to sit along the path the level actually wants you to take.

It plays best as a two-player game on a shared keyboard, but the single-player version — juggling both characters yourself — is a fair solo puzzle challenge in its own right.

Fireboy And Watergirl 3 FAQ

Can I play Fireboy and Watergirl 3 alone?
Yes. In single-player, both control schemes are active at once, so you move Fireboy with the Arrow keys and Watergirl with A/D/W at the same time, switching your attention between them as puzzles require.
What happens if Fireboy touches water or Watergirl touches fire?
Each character dies to the other's element — Fireboy is destroyed by water, Watergirl by fire. Green slime kills both of them, so it always has to be avoided regardless of which character is nearby.
Why do my characters keep sliding past where I want to stop?
Ice Temple's frozen floors carry momentum: once a character steps on ice, they keep moving in that direction until they hit a wall or a non-icy surface, so jumps and stops need to be timed earlier than on normal ground.
How many levels does Ice Temple have?
32 levels, each built around the same frozen-floor mechanic combined with levers, pressure plates and pushable boxes that usually require one character to hold a switch while the other moves through a door.
