About Doodle Jump

Doodle Jump is an endless vertical platformer where you guide a four-legged creature, the Doodler, as high as possible up a piece of graph paper. The goal is simple: keep ascending by landing on green platforms while avoiding monsters, black holes, and fragile brown platforms that snap upon impact. As you climb higher, the game accelerates, introducing moving blue platforms, shifting hazards, and faster enemies, testing your reflexes and quick decision-making.

Every round is a tense balancing act between reaching for score-boosting items like springs, trampolines, and propeller hats, and navigating a treacherous path. The screen scrolls upward continuously, and missing a platform means falling to the bottom and ending the run. It requires focus and a steady rhythm to weave through the obstacles and beat your previous high score in the browser without any downloads.

Controls

  • Move Left/Right: Left and Right arrow keys, or A and D keys.
  • Shoot: Up arrow key, Spacebar, or Left Mouse Click.

Tips

  • Use the screen wrap: The playing field wraps around, so moving off the left edge brings you out on the right edge. Use this to quickly avoid monsters or reach otherwise inaccessible platforms.
  • Clear the path above: You can shoot upward to defeat monsters before they become a threat. If you are bouncing on a high-speed item like a propeller hat, fire a few shots to clear the way for your landing.
  • Watch for breaking platforms: Brown platforms will crack and drop you immediately. Only use them as an absolute last resort if no platforms are reachable.

Doodle Jump FAQ

How do you defeat monsters in Doodle Jump?
You can eliminate monsters by either shooting them directly using the up arrow, spacebar, or clicking, or by jumping directly on top of them.
What do the different colored platforms do?
Green platforms are standard and stationary. Blue platforms move horizontally, white platforms vanish after one bounce, and brown platforms break immediately upon contact without giving you a boost.
Does Doodle Jump have an ending?
No, the game is an endless high-score chaser. It continues indefinitely as long as you keep landing on platforms and avoiding hazards, progressively getting faster and more difficult.
