Casual Chess Game

Casual Chess is a straightforward, no-frills take on the classic board game from MarketJS: pick your side, sit down against the computer, and try to work your way to checkmate. There's no clock pressure by default and no clutter on the board, just the sixty-four squares and the pieces you already know how to move.

A match plays out one turn at a time. Select a piece, see where it's legally allowed to go, and tap the square you want to move it to. The AI opponent adapts to a difficulty level you choose before the game starts, so a beginner can practice basic openings while a stronger player can push for a tighter, more punishing game.

Controls

• Click or tap a piece to select it
• Click or tap an empty (or occupied enemy) tile to move there

Tips

• Use the built-in hint system if you get stuck on a position rather than guessing a move
• Start on a lower difficulty to get a feel for the AI's habits before raising it
• Control the center of the board early — it opens up more options for your bishops and knights later
• Watch for undefended pieces before you commit to a trade; the AI will punish a careless capture

It's a good fit for a quick lunch-break game or for anyone who wants to sharpen basic chess instincts without installing an app or setting up a physical board.
