Bomba is Nitrome's 2008 mouse-avoider: you guide a small blue-green robot through 30 levels, touching every star to light it up while steering clear of walls, spikes and patrolling enemies that end the attempt on contact. There's no jump button and no combat stick — every move is a mouse (or finger, on touch devices) trace through a cramped, hazard-packed level.
Along the way you'll pass bomb dispensers. Pick one up and you're carrying an active bomb until you drop it, which is how you clear moss clumps and enemies standing between you and an unlit star. Touch anything you shouldn't and you lose a life, respawning at the last star you lit rather than the start of the level — you only get three lives before the level restarts from scratch.
Controls
- Move the mouse (or drag with a finger on touch) to steer Bomba
- Click, or tap, to drop a bomb you're carrying
Tips
- Light the nearest star first — since stars are checkpoints, an earlier one means a shorter walk back after a death
- Watch how an enemy patrols before moving through its lane; a single touch ends the attempt regardless of how close you were to a star
- Save a bomb for the moss clump or enemy actually blocking your route rather than dropping it as soon as you pick it up
Bomba suits a slower, more careful session than most browser arcade games — it rewards a steady hand and reading the level over quick reflexes.
