Axis Football League puts you in the coach's chair and the quarterback's cleats at once: pick one of the league's teams, call a formation from the playbook, and snap the ball into a play you steer yourself. Built by Axis Games, it's a deeper sim than most browser football games — real teams, a real playbook, and a season that runs game after game instead of one arcade match and done.
Every snap starts with a play call, then drops you behind the quarterback: read the field, decide whether to hand off or drop back, and throw to whichever receiver gets open. Miss your window and the pocket collapses on you; complete it and you're fighting downfield for extra yards. Win enough games across the season and you climb toward the playoffs and a shot at the league championship.
Controls
- WASD or Arrow Keys — move your player
- Left Click — pass to a receiver on offense, switch to the nearest man on defense
- Spacebar — speed burst, to break away from a tackle or close down a ball carrier
Tips
- Don't force a pass into double coverage — check for a second receiver before you throw.
- Running the ball burns clock, so lean on it when you're protecting a late lead.
- On defense, save your speed burst for the moment the runner commits to a lane rather than using it on the first step.
It suits anyone who wants more strategy than a two-button arcade game but doesn't need a full console simulation — a season you can actually finish a few games at a time.
