Word Search brings the classic newspaper and puzzle book experience straight to your screen. The objective is timeless and straightforward: you are presented with a dense grid of scrambled letters and a bank of target words. You need to scan the board to locate every hidden word, which can be arranged forward, backward, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally across the grid.
A typical session is relaxing yet requires sharp observation. The pacing is entirely up to you. There are no frantic enemies to dodge or timers to beat in the base mode; it is just you patiently untangling patterns from a sea of letters. Highlighting a word gives a satisfying visual pop, gradually clearing out the word bank until the board is solved.
Controls
- Mouse: Click and drag across the letters to highlight a word. Release the button to confirm the selection.
- Touchscreen: Tap and drag your finger across the letters to select a word.
Tips
- Search for uncommon letters first. If a target word contains a J, Q, X, or Z, scan the entire grid for those specific letters. They stand out more than vowels.
- Look for double letters. Identifying pairs like "OO" or "LL" in the grid can quickly help you track down words containing them.
- Check the immediate perimeter. Once you spot the starting letter of a target word, immediately check the eight letters surrounding it to see if the second letter matches.
