Waffle Words is a daily word puzzle built around a waffle-shaped grid: six five-letter words are locked together, horizontally and vertically, but every letter starts in the wrong square. You get 15 swaps to drag tiles into their correct spots and reveal all six words at once.
Every swap is a clue. Green tiles are already in the right square, yellow tiles belong somewhere in that row or column but not where they are now, and gray tiles aren't part of the answer at all. Reading those colors correctly — and figuring out which swap fixes two words at once instead of one — is the whole game. A new puzzle goes live each day, and your streak, total solves and swap-count distribution are tracked in a stats panel so you can see how efficient your solves have been over time.
Controls
Click and hold a tile, drag it onto the tile you want to swap it with, then release. On mobile, tap and drag with your finger the same way. Every completed swap counts against your total of 15.
Tips
- Fix shared tiles first — the corner and center letters belong to both a horizontal and a vertical word, so a single correct swap there can turn two tiles green at once.
- Don't burn a swap moving a gray tile just to "try something" — it's still not in the solution wherever you put it. Focus swaps on tiles you already know are green or yellow.
- Work out the word you're most confident about first, even if it isn't fully green yet. Locking one row usually narrows the letters left for its intersecting columns.
It plays in a couple of minutes, so it suits a quick daily puzzle break rather than a long session.
