Tanko Io Game

Tanko.io is a team-based tank battle rather than a free-for-all: you join a five-player squad, pick a side — Allies or Soviet Union — and fight across a desert arena to knock out the opposing base before they knock out yours. It plays closer to a small-scale war than a typical io shooter.

Tanks grow as the match goes on. Every enemy you shoot down makes your own tank bigger and harder to kill, and upgrades scattered around the arena add more power on top of that, so a squad that controls the map early tends to snowball. The match ends the moment either base falls, so racing enemy tanks isn't actually the win condition — reaching their base is.

• WASD or Arrow Keys: move the tank

Tips

• Grab visible upgrades early — a small, un-upgraded tank dies fast against anyone who's already grown.
• Don't chase kills for their own sake; a squad that pushes toward the enemy base together wins faster than one that scatters for solo frags.
• Stay near teammates when your tank is still small — size and upgrades matter more than raw skill in the opening minute.
