Stick War drops you on a battlefield of stick figures where the win condition is simple: destroy the enemy nation's Statue before they destroy yours. You start with one swordsman and a pile of gold mines, and every match is a loop of mining, training an army, and pushing it across the map to grind down the opposing base.
The tactical layer comes from unit choice. Swordwrath are cheap frontline melee, Speartons trade speed for heavy armor and reach, Archidons snipe from range, and Magikill mages cast slow but devastating spells - and you can only afford so many of each before your gold miners fall behind. Later stages add giants and Statue-tier units that can turn a losing fight around if you can afford to field them. Winning usually comes down to balancing your economy against how fast you throw units at the enemy line.
Controls
- A/D or Left/Right arrow keys - move the selected unit or group
- Space bar - perform the selected unit's action (attack, cast, or special ability)
Tips
- Keep a steady flow of miners going even when you're under pressure - a stalled economy loses long games no matter how good your army is.
- Mix unit types instead of massing one kind: Speartons soak damage in front while Archidons and Magikill do the actual killing from behind them.
- Rushing early with cheap Swordwrath can catch an opponent who's still building up their mining, but it leaves you with no army if it fails.
- Watch enemy formations before committing - baiting their units out of range of their Statue's defense makes the final push much safer.
This one's for players who like real-time strategy distilled down to its essentials - no base-building menus, just mining, army composition, and knowing when to push.
