Solitaire needs no introduction, but this browser version keeps it simple: a single deck of Klondike, a running score, and a clock that starts the moment you deal. Move fast and precisely and the points add up; slow down to puzzle over a tricky column, and the timer just keeps climbing in the background.
The rules are the same ones that have shipped on computers for decades. Seven tableau columns hold a mix of face-up and face-down cards, and your job is to walk that mess down into four foundation piles in the top corner — one per suit, built up in order from Ace to King. Every card you free along the way opens up a new move; every wasted draw from the stock pile just burns time.
How to Play
Cards in the tableau stack in descending order, alternating colors — a red 6 goes on a black 7, and so on. Build the foundations by suit, starting at the Ace. When you run out of legal tableau moves, flip through the stock pile for a new option. Every card you play, onto a foundation or a tableau column, adds to your score, so there's a real incentive to keep cards moving instead of parking them.
Controls
Everything runs on the mouse, or a finger on a touchscreen: click and drag a card, or a valid run of cards, to move it, and click the stock pile to draw. No keyboard shortcuts to learn — if you already know how to hold a mouse button, you already know the controls.
Tips
- Uncover before you draw. Prioritize moves that flip a new face-down tableau card over moves that just shuffle already-visible cards around.
- Don't rush cards to the foundation. A low card sent up early can strand a card above it that needed a landing spot in the tableau — leave a few in play until you're sure you won't need them.
- Watch the clock, not just the cards. Scoring rewards speed as well as correct play, so plan your next couple of moves while you're still finishing the current one.
It's the same quiet, one-player game it's always been — no opponents, no pressure beyond the clock you set for yourself, and a natural stopping point every time you clear the board or run out of moves.
