About Short Life

Short Life is a darkly comedic physics platformer where your only goal is to keep a fragile hero in one piece. Every level is an obstacle course packed with mines, swinging blades, and spike pits that react with punishing ragdoll physics. A single wrong step usually means losing a limb, but you can technically still drag yourself to the finish line as long as your character survives the damage.

The pacing is entirely up to you. Rushing blindly almost always guarantees a quick, gory demise. Success means carefully studying the timing of the traps, inching past explosives, and knowing when to wait out a swinging pendulum.

Controls

  • Arrow Keys / WASD: Move left and right
  • Up Arrow / W: Jump or stand up
  • Down Arrow / S: Crouch, crawl, or duck under obstacles

Tips

Momentum is incredibly important. You can't change direction easily in mid-air, so make sure you have the right running start before committing to a gap.

Crawling is safer than running. When approaching a low ceiling or an unpredictable trap, holding the down arrow lets you inch forward with a much smaller hitbox.
