Free Mahjong Game

Free Mahjong is a classic tile-matching puzzle where you clear a board by finding identical, unblocked pairs. You begin with a stacked layout of 144 tiles—typically the traditional Turtle formation—and must carefully disassemble the pile piece by piece. A tile is only "free" and clickable if it has no tile resting on top of it, and if its left or right side is completely open.

A typical session is a quiet, deliberate exercise in pattern recognition and forward planning. Making obvious matches immediately can sometimes trap essential tiles beneath others, forcing a reshuffle or a game over. The challenge lies in balancing quick visual scanning with strategic choices about which pairs to remove first.

Controls

• Mouse / Touch: Click or tap an exposed tile to select it, then click a matching exposed tile to remove the pair.

Tips

• Work from the top down. Removing the highest tiles exposes the most options underneath.
• Prioritize matching tiles that free up multiple edges, rather than matching pairs on the outside perimeter.
• If you have three of the same tile exposed, check which pair removes the most blockage before committing.

This solo puzzle format requires no prior knowledge of traditional four-player Mahjong rules, making it a perfect, low-pressure game for short breaks.
