About Fortz

Fortz is a local two-player battle where each side commands a turret dug into their own fort, trying to blow up the player's base before it happens to them. There's no single-player mode and no online matchmaking — it's built for two people sharing one keyboard, screen split down the middle, firing at each 's foundations.

A round comes down to balancing offense and defense: land shots on the enemy fort while stacking blocks to shield your own turret or climb to a better firing angle. Pickups spawn mid-match and shake things up — grab one and you might unleash an attack dog, a mobile robot turret, or a bomber plane that drops explosives across the battlefield, so no two rounds play out quite the same.

Controls

Fortz splits the keyboard between two players on the same screen:

  • Player 1: WASD to move and aim, D to fire, S to place a block
  • Player 2: Arrow keys to move and aim, Left arrow to fire, Down arrow to place a block

Tips

  • Blocks aren't just defense — stack them to reach higher ground for a cleaner shot down onto your opponent's fort.
  • Race for pickups the moment they appear; letting your opponent grab a bomber plane or robot turret first can swing a close round fast.
  • Don't get so caught up attacking that you leave your own base bare — an undefended fort falls just as easily as one that wins you the match.

Fortz also ships with a built-in level editor, so once you've run through the premade battlefields, you and a friend can design and swap your own.
