Fireboy and Watergirl 2: Light Temple puts two elemental heroes in a stone temple lit by scattered beams, and hides the way out behind whichever door you can figure how to open first. It's the light-and-mirror sequel to the original Forest Temple game from developer Oslo Albet, and the puzzles lean harder into physics than platforming skill: trace a beam's path, work out which mirror needs to turn, then get both characters to the switch or door it feeds.
Play solo by swapping between both characters, or split the keyboard with a second player and coordinate out loud — most levels expect you to park one hero on a pressure plate while the pushes ahead. Fireboy walks through fire and dies in water; Watergirl does the reverse; touching green goo or falling into a pit kills either one instantly, so a restart is one careless step away.
Controls
- Fireboy: Left/Right arrow keys to move, Up arrow to jump
- Watergirl: A/D to move, W to jump
Tips
- Trace a light beam back to its source before touching any mirror — moving the wrong one can send the beam somewhere you can't easily undo.
- Pick up the red and blue diamonds on your way through rather than doubling back for them; most sit just off the direct path to the exit.
- On pressure-plate puzzles, walk the character with the shorter route into position first, then bring the one through.
- Playing alone, clear one character's side of a puzzle completely before switching control so you're not backtracking mid-solve.
It suits a co-op session with someone sitting next to you as much as a slower solo puzzle break where you juggle both control schemes yourself.
