About Cityidle

City Idle is a civilization-building game that starts about as small as it gets: a single firepit to draw in your first citizens. From there you build huts to house them, send them out to gather berries and grow crops, and slowly guide the settlement from the Stone Age toward the Iron Age and beyond.

The citizens are simulated rather than decorative — what you build and research actually changes how they live and work — so a session is less about clicking for numbers to go up and more about figuring out a city layout that keeps everyone fed, housed, and productive as the demands of each new age stack up.

Controls

Left mouse button to place buildings and interact with the city. Drag with the right mouse button, or use WASD, to move the camera around.

Tips

  • Secure food and housing before rushing new technology — a citizen shortage slows every part of the city down.
  • Leave room to expand early layouts; City Idle is built around growth, from a single firepit up to a multi-island civilization.

It's a slower, more deliberate idle-builder than most, and suits players who want a management challenge rather than pure numbers-go-up clicking.

Cityidle FAQ

How do you play City Idle?
Use the left mouse button to place buildings and interact with the city. Drag the right mouse button, or use WASD, to move the camera.
What do the citizens do?
Citizens in City Idle are fully simulated: they gather resources, work the buildings you construct, and need food and housing to keep the city running.
Does the city progress over time?
Yes. You start with basics like a firepit and huts and can advance the civilization from the Stone Age toward the Iron Age and beyond as you research and build.
Is City Idle difficult?
It leans harder than a typical idle game — managing citizens, resources, and layout takes more planning than simple click-and-wait idlers.
