About Cats Drop

Cats Drop is a merge puzzle built around a simple cup and a stream of cats. You drop a cat in, it falls and settles among the others already inside, and whenever two cats of the same size touch they fuse into the next size up. Eleven cats exist in the lineup, from a small starter kitten all the way up to a giant, and the whole game is really just one question repeated: where do you drop the next one so the merges keep chaining instead of stacking into a mess?

There's no timer forcing your hand, so the tension comes entirely from the cup filling up. Early drops are easy since almost anything merges with almost anything, but as the cup gets crowded you have to plan two or three drops ahead — a careless placement can wall off a pair that would otherwise have combined, and once cats pile past the rim it's over.

Controls

Cats Drop is mouse-only. Move the mouse to line up the next cat over the cup, then click to release it.

Tips

  • Build from the edges in. Keeping same-size cats along the sides leaves the middle open for the drop you're currently aiming, rather than boxing yourself into a narrow gap.
  • Don't rush a drop just because a spot looks empty. An empty gap in the middle of the cup is often narrower than it looks once the falling cat's width is added in.
  • Chase the next size up, not the biggest cat on screen. Merging two mid-size cats you already have on the board clears more room than waiting for a rare small cat to wander into place.

It's a pick-up-and-play session game — a few drops during a break work just as well as a longer run chasing the biggest cat in the lineup.

Cats Drop FAQ

How do you play Cats Drop?
Move your mouse to aim, then click to drop a cat into the cup. When two cats of the same size touch, they merge into the next size up.
What happens if the cup overflows?
The round ends once cats stack up past the rim of the cup, so leave room to keep merging rather than dropping cats anywhere that's open.
Does Cats Drop work on mobile?
It plays with a single pointer input, so it works with touch taps the same way it works with mouse clicks on desktop.
Is there a way to win outright?
There's no fixed end screen — it's a score-chasing puzzle where the goal is to keep merging cats into bigger ones for as long as possible before the cup fills up.
