About Awesome Tanks

Awesome Tanks is a top-down shooter built around a simple loop: fight through a level, then spend what you earned before the next one starts. You drive a small tank across open arenas, clearing out enemy tanks and their spawner bases while grabbing the coins they drop, and each level ends once the last spawner is destroyed.

The tension comes from moving and shooting at the same time. Enemy tanks close in from multiple directions, and standing still to line up a shot is usually what gets you killed. Coins earned mid-level carry over to a shop between stages, where you buy upgrades that make the next fight noticeably easier — which is what turns a rough early level into a clean run a few upgrades later.

Controls

Move with WASD or the arrow keys. Aim and fire with the mouse — your tank's turret follows the cursor independently of the direction you're driving. On touchscreens, the left side of the screen moves the tank and holding the right side fires.

Tips

  • Put early coins into visibility upgrades before armor — a bigger view radius lets you spot and snipe spawners from range instead of walking into their fire.
  • Keep moving while you shoot. Circling around cover works far better than trading hits head-on.
  • Go straight for the enemy spawners rather than mopping up every tank first — killing the source ends the wave and stops fresh enemies from replacing the ones you clear.

Awesome Tanks FAQ

What are the controls for Awesome Tanks?
Move your tank with WASD or the arrow keys, and aim and fire with the mouse. On mobile, the left side of the screen moves the tank and holding the right side fires.
How do you clear a level in Awesome Tanks?
Destroy the enemy spawner bases on the map. Enemy tanks keep appearing until you take out the spawner producing them, so a level ends once every spawner is gone.
What should you upgrade first?
Visibility upgrades are usually the best early buy — a longer view range lets you shoot spawners and tanks before they close the distance on you.
Does Awesome Tanks work on mobile?
Yes, it has touch controls built in: tap-and-hold the left side of the screen to move and the right side to aim and fire.
