About Australian Patience

Australian Patience is a challenging HTML5 card game developed by Dr Mop that combines the structural setup of Klondike with the group-moving rules of Yukon Solitaire. In this single-player game, your goal is to move all 52 cards to the four foundation piles, building them up from Ace to King by suit. With all tableau cards dealt face-up from the beginning, the game demands foresight and careful planning.

Every session begins with seven tableau columns containing four face-up cards each. The remaining 24 cards form the stock pile, which you can draw from one by one to find playable cards. Because there are no redeals and tableau building requires placing cards of the same suit in descending order, every move counts. A single mistake can easily block your path to victory, making it a highly rewarding puzzle for solitaire enthusiasts.

Controls

Play with your mouse or touchscreen controls:

  • Click and drag: Move a card or a group of cards to another column or to the foundation piles.
  • Left-click / Tap: Select cards or draw a new card from the stock pile.
  • Double-click / Double-tap: Automatically send a playable card to its respective foundation pile.

Strategies to Win

  • Expose buried cards: Since cards are built down by the same suit, look for ways to clear columns or free cards that are trapping lower-value cards.
  • Utilize Yukon-style group moves: You can move any face-up card along with all the cards resting on top of it, regardless of their order. Use this to transfer key cards even if the stack is not in sequence.
  • Manage empty columns: Only a King (or a stack starting with a King) can occupy an empty tableau column. Do not empty a column unless you have a King ready to fill it, or you risk losing a valuable maneuvering space.
  • Conserve the stock pile: You only get a single pass through the 24 stock cards. Exhaust all possible tableau moves before drawing from the stock.
